Supported by clever marketing and admired for his kinship personality, Sir Robert Bryson Hall II has become a star who plays by his own rules. While other rappers boast of monster hits with high billboards, Logic has made his fans fall in love with his albums as healing projects rather than taking the “one-hit” path to success. His 2015 album, entitled The Incredible True Story, sold an impressive 135,000 copies in the opening week, reaching #1 in the Top R&B/Hip Hop charts and #3 in the Billboard 200.
Logic Was Raised In a Dysfunctional Family
Robert was born in Rockville, Maryland, to an African-American father named Robert Bryson Hall and a white mother, and grew up in a dysfunctional household where he was raised watching his brothers hand out crack cocaine in the neighborhood. His father did not fare any better; he was a cocaine addict who was absent for most of his early childhood. His mother was an alcoholic and unable to provide the emotional and moral support necessary to raise a child.
Logic attended Gaithersburg High School, but his time there was fraught with many problems as he could not concentrate and excel in his academic skills. Around the 10th grade he began to skip classes and as a result, failed so much that he had to drop out of school.
The home front was no easier. So at the age of 17, he moved out of his family home to escape an abusive household and pay more attention to his music. To survive, he had to do a lot of menial work while waiting for his big break.
His Rise to Fame
When the Def Jam Recordings and Visionary Music Group called, Logic finally caught the attention of the industry’s heavyweights. With them, he released his debut album, Under Pressure, in 2014. The following year, he released his second album, The Incredible True Story.
The latest project in his oeuvre is his fifth studio album, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, which was released on May 10, 2019, and debuted at #1 on the US Billboard 200, making it his third album to reach the top of the charts.
Logic’s Relationship With Jessica Andrea
According to Logic, his drive and dedication to his music cost him many relationships. He made a conscious decision to concentrate on his craft, and unfortunately, this was at the expense of his love life.
But as fate would have it, he met Jessica Andrea and started dating her in 2013. Jessica is an American model who is known in some circles as a singer. They quickly became very fond of each other and on October 22, 2015, the couple was married in a private ceremony.
While the relationship lasted, everything seemed to be rosy. In fact, on Jessica’s 25th birthday, Logic hired an orchestra to awaken her enthusiasm that morning with a performance of the theme song from Larry David’s HBO show Curb Your Enthusiasm.
What Happened To Them?
Barely three years after the union was formed, Logic filed for divorce from Jessica, citing “insurmountable differences”. Yeah, investigations revealed that the rapper pulled the plug on the relationship and filed for divorce. He never really revealed the real reason for the divorce.
They signed a prenuptial agreement which stated that Logic would make certain financial payments to them but released them from the obligation to get the house or a car. Jessica moved out after the separation and went to social media to report that 2018 had been one of the hardest periods of her life.
Logic and Jessica issued a joint statement after the divorce, urging fans to respect their decision and privacy. The statement further emphasized that there was no bad blood between them and that they would remain close friends forever despite the failed marriage. They had no child together.
Meet The Rapper’s New Wife Brittney Noell
Logic has always preferred to keep his private life discreet, so when he announced that he was expecting a baby almost a year after his divorce from Jessica, some people were surprised. Logic met Brittney Noell in early 2019; she was later flown with him in a private jet to one of his shows in Las Vegas. Brittney is the creative director of Brittney Noell Designs, an LA-based women’s apparel brand.
On July 19, it became public knowledge that he had applied for a marriage license that provides 90 days for a wedding under California law. In an interview, Logic responded to a question about his love of chess by pointing out how he and his wife enjoy playing the game together. This confirmed speculation that they tied the knot in a private ceremony.
