Jalen Hurts Biography

Jalen Hurts was born on August 7, 1998, in Channelview, Texas, where he grew up. The son of a former soccer player, Hurts began playing soccer at Channelview High School.

Besides soccer, the boy also competed as a powerlifter. Hurts had an impressive high school career, made it into the second year of the entire district’s second-team selection, and was named the overall VMP of District 21-6A in his junior year. Jalen Hurts stormed 1,391 yards and scored 25 touchdowns in his senior year.

He was ranked a 4-star recruit and despite the interest of Texas A&M, he chose the University of Alabama where he became a starting quarterback as a true rookie, an unprecedented move under the leadership of head coach Nick Saban, who has an affinity for experienced quarterbacks.

Jalen Hurts broke many records in his freshman year and won the SEC “Freshman of the Year” award. He led the team to the SEC title and was also named SEC Offensive Player of the Year. In 2017, he won the 2018 national college soccer playoff championship.

After winning 26 of his 28 starts, he surprisingly lost his starting position to the real newcomer Tua Tagovailoa in the 2018 season. As a result, many speculated that he would move to another school, but coach Saban was able to convince him to stay on as a replacement.

She is also the school’s math special education teacher. Pamela Hurts also works at the LCPL Anthony Aguirre Junior High School.

In his senior year, Averion Jr. threw 1,857 yards, scored 12 touchdowns, and made 51.1 percent of his passes. After college, he followed in his father’s footsteps and began a coaching career coaching a youth team. Jalen often refers to his older brother as his hero and says he designed his game after him.
