Michael Carbonaro was born on April 28, 1976, in Oakdale, New York, United States of America. He is a successful American magician, actor, and excellent string player. Carbonaro is famous for fooling unsuspecting people with his magic tricks as the content of his TV shows and has also managed to trick his fellow magicians and celebrities.
He was once called a magician because of his fantastic magical abilities, which include breathtaking illusions and tricks that turn even the greatest cynic into an ardent believer in magic. Michael Carbonaro, who is looked after by the great Eugene Burger, is a regular at Magic Castle in Los Angeles, a venue where elite magicians showcase their skills, and now has an immensely successful television show and a considerable amount of film credits to his name. His charm and gentle appearance are part of the weapons in his arsenal with which he can easily persuade and delight his audience.
Michael Carbonaro grew up in a pretty average family in Long Island, New York. His father was an electrician and his mother a nurse. He has a famous sibling (one brother) and graduated from Connetquot High School in Bohemia, New York. Michael Carbonaro went on to study Theater Studies at the Tisch School of Arts, NYU. Before he was accepted to study acting at NYU, he had already started performing at magic shows, off-Broadway shows and corporate events in New York, and paid for the college from the proceeds he received for performing his magic tricks.
Michael Carbonaro got going when he made the courageous decision to leave New York, as well as the gigs he got there for the City of Angels (Los Angeles) to enter the sphere of Hollywood. In retrospect, this was the best thing that happened to him, because if he hadn’t taken this step, he might not have met Eugene Burger and Jay Leno, who had a strong influence on his career as a magician and actor.
Michael Carbonaro began appearing with Jay Leno on the Tonight Show in 2003 as the “Magic Clerk” of a convenience store, performing magic tricks on unsuspecting customers, and continued performing on the show until its close on February 6, 2014. Although he had starred in two films with Jay Leno before appearing on the Tonight Show in 2003, he only gained notoriety after his appearance on that show.
His appearance on Jay Leno’s talk show opened doors for him and in. He played the role of WacArnold’s manager in episode 2.2 of Chappelle’s show. Michael Carbonaro then starred as Andy Wilson in Another Gay Movie in 2006 and as Magician/Rookie Cop in 5 episodes of the American soap opera called Guiding Light. About a year later he was cast as Jeff Trapido in Law & Order: Special Unit for Victims (2007). Carbonaro was to be cast as Robbie Barkley in the American black comedy God Bless America in 2011 and was to appear in the following TV shows from 2010-2012: CSI: Miami (2010), How to Make It in America (2010), Wizards of Waverly Place (2011), Grey’s Anatomy (2012) and iCarly (2012).
On April 1, 2014, Michael Carbonaro launched his television show called “The Carbonaro Effect,” an American reality television series with a hidden camera/practical joke, and the show continues to air today. He has had a successful career as an actor and magician, but he didn’t always want to be like that. As a child, he wanted to be a make-up artist for horror movies and produce special effects on the set of these horror movies. It remains to be seen whether he would venture into this branch of show business at some point, but he still channels his passion for horror movie make-up and special effects into his Halloween costumes and decorations.
Gay, Spouse, Husband, Friend
It is no secret that Michael Carbonaro is gay. He is a strong supporter of the LGBTQ community and has been known to twitter in support of their cause. He claims to have been born gay and says his homosexuality has always been inherent to him and was not given to him by any external environmental influence – as a 6-year-old child he had a crush on E.T.’s main character Eliot.
Born at a time when homosexuals were not accepted in society, Michael had to keep his sexuality a secret. Eventually, with the advent of gay rights, he openly came out as gay and is married to American actor Peter Stickles, known for his roles as Caleb in Shortbus and Damian in the American TV series The Liar about gay vampires. Michael and Peter are happily married since 2014.
Does Michael Carbonaro Have A Twin?
There have been rumors and even disputes that Michael Carbonaro has a twin brother. These rumors are based on the fact that Michael was seen in two places at the same time in some of his live magic shows, and so some viewers have come to the logical conclusion that he must have a twin to perform such a magic trick because it is humanly impossible for one person to be in two places at the same time. However, this ability to let an audience speculate is only testimony for Michael’s extraordinary magic tricks. To our knowledge, he doesn’t have a twin brother, and how he continues to perform these amazing magic tricks on stage remains a mystery.
The net assets of Michael Carbonaro are estimated at approximately USD 500,000. Since his teenage years, he has been making money with his magical abilities and this is still his main source of income. He also earns a reasonable income from acting. However, this is not the limit for Michael, we believe that he will increase his net worth and income if he gets more acting roles and continues to delight his fans with his magic tricks.
