As a music producer, rapper, fashion designer, shoe designer, art collector, and painter, Swizz Beatz portrays the true spirit of the Bronx, New York. With net assets of over $70 million, Swizz Beatz is arguably one of the most successful entrepreneurs in the African American community of the United States of America.
Swizz Beatz has a street in the Bronx named after him, he is the first “Producer in Residence” at New York University, and The Source magazine named him one of the 20 largest producers for its 20th anniversary. He has also been called the best rap producer of all time. Switzerland began to earn recognition and praise at the age of 16.
Swizz Beatz was born on September 13, 1978, as Cashier Dean in the Bronx, New York. He is of Afro-Jamaican and Puerto Rican descent, his father is said to be an Eritrean immigrant who divorced his mother when Switzerland was very young. He was raised as a Muslim by his mother in the Northeast Bronx, attended Harry S. Truman High School, and was recent, in November 2017, named alumnus of the owner/president of the management program at Harvard Business School.
Swizz Beatz began his career as a disc jockey (DJ) and ventured into music production with the help and influence of his uncles who were associated with the record label Ruff Ryders Entertainment. Within a few years Swizz Beatz produced tracks for prominent artists such as Ruff Ryders’ DMX; Ruff Ryders’ Hymn – this was the first beat Swizz sold; Jay-Z – Money, Cash, Hoes; Eve, Noreaga, etc.
Over time, Swizz Beatz would start a record company called Full Surface Records. Under his label, he signed contracts with Cassidy, Eve, and Bone Thugs-n-Harmony. Swizz dropped singles and released albums with features and guest appearances by critically acclaimed artists such as Pharrell, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Busta Rhymes, Pusha T, Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys, Estelle, and John Legend, to name a few.
He won the Grammy Award for the best rap performance by a duo or group in 2011 with his title On to the Next One with the multiple award-winning rapper Jay-Z. Kasseem has also earned several credits as a filmmaker with his cameo appearances in the following films: I Tried (2007), Dumb and Dumber To (2014), Empire (2015), and the American television series Marriage Boot Camp (2018).
Swizz Beatz – Kids
Kasseem Dean has 5 children of 4 different women and thus remains true to his Muslim faith, which allows polygamy. Switzerland had its first child named Prince Nasir Dean on October 25, 2000, with Nicole Levy. The second child, Kasseem David Dean Jr., was born in December 2006 to his then-wife and the American songwriter Mashonda Tifrere. His third child and his first daughter Nicole were born in May 2008 by Jahna Sebastian, but Switzerland did not learn of their existence until 2009.
After the first three, the Swiss became official and had his fourth and fifth child by his current wife Alicia Keys. They had their son Egypt Daoud on 14 October 2010 and another son Genesis Ali Dean on 27 December 2014.
Relationship With Mashonda Tifrere
The Swiss Beatz met the American singer-songwriter Mashonda Tifrere in 1998, and the two of them were together for about 6 years before they decided in 2004 to close the alliance. Two years later, after losing their first pregnancy through an unfortunate miscarriage, Switzerland and Mashonda named their little boy Kasseem David Dean, Jr.
However, in 2008, Swizz Beatz and Mashonda jointly decided to end the marriage and seek a divorce after four years of marriage. There were rumors of infidelity floating around about the divorce, and these rumors were not far-fetched, as Switzerland apparently had an affair with Jahna Sebastian, a British singer, producer, and songwriter when he was still married to Mashonda and she gave birth to their daughter Nicole in May 2008.
Relationship With Jahna Sebastian
Jahna kept her pregnancy and the possible birth of her daughter secret from Switzerland and the public until July 2009. In her opinion, she did so because she did not want her daughter to be drawn into the hysteria and hype surrounding the Swiss divorce case with Mashonda.
Jahna Sebastian currently lives with her daughter Nicole in London, and Switzerland sees Nicole 3 or 4 times a year.
Swizz Beatz Relationship With Alicia Keys – Wife
Although there were rumors that Switzerland met Alicia Keys in 2008, when he was still legally married to Mashonda and apparently expecting a child (unknown to him) with Jahna, these rumors were not confirmed until 2009 and May 2010.
Swizz Beatz confirmed his engagement to Alicia Keys and announced that they were already expecting a child together. Swizz and Alicia were married on July 31, 2010,
on the French island of Corsica, and Alicia gave birth to her son Egypt Daoud a few months later, on October 14, 2010.
On their fourth anniversary, 31 July 2014, the couple announced that they were expecting another child, and on 27 December 2014 Alicia gave birth to their second son, Genesis Ali Dean. The couple seems happy together and we can only wish them many more years of marital bliss.
Brother and Mother
Swizz Beatz has a brother named Andre King. Andre was born on May 1, 1987, and is a model, designer, and TV personality. He is currently in the cast of the reality TV series Growing Up Hip-Hop.
Andre King used to date a girl named Sanchali, but he recently came out as gay and has received a lot of support from his family.
Swizz is very close to his mother, he sometimes posts videos of her dancing alone or with him to Afrobeat sounds on his Instagram page. Despite his very busy schedule, he always makes time for her, and she has been seen accompanying him to various celebrity events. She is beautiful and looks very young for a grandmother.
